Traditional Santorini fava recipe with extra virgin Plakias Olive Oil

Ingredients
Fava beans 250g.
1 big Onion
Extra virgin olive oil Plakias Olive Oil
Water 750-800 ml
Salt

Make homemade fava beans of Santorini with few ingredients and easily! The recipe will be perfect even if you have never made it before.

Instructions:

  1. Put the fava beans in water for 30′ and drain.
  2. Coarsely chop the onion and fry it together with extra virgin Plakias Olive Oil until the onion becomes transparent.
  3. Add the water and fava beans. We peel a little if necessary.
  4. Boil on low heat for 50′ to 1 hour and stir gently and not often. We do not close the lid completely because it swells the water.
  5. Just before the end, add the salt. Then put it in the food processor to make it velouté.
  6. We serve it with extra virgin Plakias Olive Oil, spring onion and capers if available.
